I have been interested in drawing and painting since childhood. Many afternoons were spent with crayons and colouring books discovering shape, detail and use of colour.
Nowadays, I still explore colour; my son insists I make use of orange as it is his favourite! These early experiences have remained with me, especially when approaching subject matter from a critical viewpoint.
Art can be a life long learning experience and source of pleasure. I enjoyed art classes as a schoolgirl and still do, though now from a different perspective.
When someone shows an appreciation for one of my recent works, or has an obvious enthusiasm for the subject, that, for me is when the creative circle becomes complete. Elizabeth MacGregor
